BEFORE/AFTER CARE PROGRAM

Dear Parents, 

The Trinity Academy Before School/After School Program will begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.  “Before School Care” will begin at 7:30am. in the cafeteria.  Children should enter by the side door and check in with the morning care attendant. 

Before/After School Care has its own telephone number which will be in effect from 3:00pm each day.  The number is 226-3386 x 22. 

After School Care ends at 5:30pm.  Please pick up children promptly by 5:30pm. There is a $5.00 late fee, payable on that day, if you arrive after 5:30pm.  Please call After Care if you are detained and will be arriving late. 

New Dismissal and Emergency Forms will be distributed to Kindergarten parents during orientation and to new students, grades 1-8, the first day of After Care.
Parents should write a note to the homeroom teacher instructing the teacher to send student(s) to After Care. 

 Forms for students who have previously participated in the Before/After School Programs may be reviewed the first week of school and updated if needed.   

Some important things to know: 

1. Snacks - Children will need to bring a snack for after school.  Please make certain snacks are healthy.  School does not provide utensils.  Please point out or label after school snacks for younger children so that they will not eat them at lunch time.
2. Children may not change out of uniforms after school.  However, they may change from shoes to sneakers for after school.  On 12:30pm dismissal days they may change out of uniform for the afternoon.
3. Please remind your child that school behavior rules exist after school.   They must be polite and respectful not only to the adults in the program but to the other children as well.  You will be notified of any disruptive behavior.  If it continues we may not be able to keep your child in the program.
4. Please make certain that clothing, lunch boxes, etc. have your child’s name on them so that forgotten items may easily be returned.
5. Children should carry their own belongings in to school and from After Care.  They are less likely to forget things this way.
6. When the enclosed dismissal form is filled out, please make certain emergency phone numbers are up to date and that any beeper numbers are included.  If any changes occur please notify the school and After Care immediately
7. A hand written permission slip must be sent in for each time a child is to be picked up by anyone other than the person on the dismissal form.

8.      Homework is usually worked on in After Care.  Children must bring all homework supplies with them.  They will not be allowed to return to the classroom.  Assistance with homework will be given to each child as needed.
